Frederick, Maryland is 40 miles north of Washington DC and 40 miles west of Baltimore, Maryland, sitting at the intersection of interstates 70 and 270. It is the historical home of Francis Scott Key, Barbara Fritchie, The Museum of Civil War Medicine, the Monocacy Battlefield, the current Frederick Keys (minor league baseball), the National Cancer Institute, Fort Detrick, BP Solartech and other hi-tech business and research entities. The Antietam Battlefield and the Gettysburg Battlefield are both within an hour drive from Frederick, also. The rental is in the historic district of Frederick; within a ten minute walk to downtown restaurants and shops, the city (Baker Park) and the MARC train that runs twice daily to Washington, DC/Union Station. The Greyhound bus station is also 1 block away. The Metro ( train) to DC is a half hour drive south on I-270, and a commuter bus is available 1 mile from the house. Local transportation by Frederick bus is available across the street from the house and bicycles can also be made available. The house is a block from the new Frederick linear park, along Carroll Creek, the center of many local arts and music festivals and the Delaplaine Arts Center, and the Frederick Library. The rental could be one or two bedrooms with shared bath ( 2 persons allowed per room, or the entire 2nd floor suite with private bath, depending on what is available at the time of your arrival. Reservations are encouraged, for no less than a weeks stay for a bedroom or the entire second floor suite. There is a microwave and small refrigerator and basic accoutrements on 2nd floor. I am in the transitions business, providing relocation management to individuals and businesses. This rental is my home. My rates vary from $85 per night ( one week minimum for a Queen size room ( all amenities included) shared bath with Jacuzzi, to $70 for a double bedroom. 2 persons allowed per room. Microwave and refrigerator and minor cooking accoutrements ( coffee pot and tea) provided on second floor, shared between two bedrooms. Full meals available at many excellent eateries within a ten minute walk or two minute drive from house. Parking on premises for weekly rentals, or on street for nightly. Child is permitted in room with parents, for upcharge of $15/night, cot fee.
