East Village is one of the best areas to stay in if you want to experience New York as a local. There are lots of fun restaurants and bars around the corner and prices are generally lower than in other areas. The subway is 8-10 minutes away and several buses stop outside the door.

Most of the time I stay in the other bedroom so you will be sharing the apartment with me. I've travelled a lot so I think I know what visitors would like out fo their stay. I am friendly and sociable but also let you have your own space.
I'm 34 and I work as a freelance journalist, sometimes from home in my room. I am more of a night person than an early morning person.

Additional information:
The room is not big but it's comfortable with a full size bed (54"/136 cm). There is a big closet in the room and a shelf for all your things. If a third person wants to stay I can put a mattress on the floor. This makes the room crowded but the price per person is lower (120 USD/3 people).
The room gets sunny in the morning, something unusal in New York since most buildings face skyscrapers.
You can stay only one night but then the price is 100 USD because of laundry and cleaning. Otherwise this is included in the 90 USD/night price.
You have full access to the kitchen with all my pots and pans, spices and your own shelf space in the fridge and cupboard. The bathroom is modern with a bathtub/shower. You can also use the livingroom that has a couch and a kitchen table with 4 chairs. This is New York so apartments are small, but it's a very functional and bright place.
Check in and check out can be flexible if no other guests are coming or going.
