The London 2012 Olympic Games will take place between 27^th July and 12^th August 2012, and the London 2012 Paralympic Games will take place between 29^th August and 9^th September 2012.

The London 2012 Olympic Games will include 26 sports with 39 disciplines and about 300 events. The number and types of events changes from one Olympics to another.

Olympics Venues and Screens

There are 23 main venues for the London 2012 Olympics.

The 2012 Olympic Games will use a host of newly built venues, existing facilities, and temporary facilities, some of them in well known locations such as Hyde Park and Horse Guards Parade. It is intended that some of the new facilities will be reused, while others will be relocated elsewhere in the UK. This will assist in regeneration of Stratford in east London which will be the site of the Olympic Park, and neighbouring Lower Lea Valley.
